LRT3 Shah Alam Line, NOW OPEN
After years of construction, the LRT3 Shah Alam line opened in June 2026, connecting Shah Alam to Klang and the greater Klang Valley. Key stations: Stadium Shah Alam, Dato' Menteri (near SACC Mall / SA Sentral), and Section 7. This is a game-changer for Shah Alam residents, fast, direct access to KL and Petaling Jaya without driving.
Merdeka Eve Celebration at Dataran Kemerdekaan (30 Aug)
Shah Alam hosts the state-level Merdeka Eve celebration. Historically draws 10,000–60,000 attendees. Expect: parades, performances by top Malaysian artists, cultural dances, silent parade, classic car showcase, midnight fireworks, and the traditional 7x "Merdeka" shout led by the Menteri Besar.
F✦FOREVER 1st World Tour (7–8 Aug)
Asian supergroup featuring Jerry Yan (F4), Van Ness Wu, Vic Chou, and Ashin (Mayday) performs at Unifi Arena, KL, a short drive or LRT ride from Shah Alam. 8pm. Tickets via starplanet.com.my. Jointly presented by Maybank and Prudential.
Sunsuria Forum Mall, NOW OPEN

SA Sentral: Shah Alam's Future City Centre
The 10-year SA Sentral project is transforming Section 14. The Spine cultural hub, LRT3 Dato' Menteri Station, and Aneka Walk (300m covered promenade) are already completed. SACC Mall is being upgraded to a world-class exhibition centre. When complete: residential towers, offices, an international exhibition centre, and a new central business district for Selangor.
